Whidbey Community Foundation
IF SELECTED:
On Whidbey Island, every child deserves the joy of story time, the spark of imagination, and the foundation for lifelong learning. Through the Whidbey Imagination Library—our local chapter of Dolly Parton’s beloved program—children from birth to age five receive a free, high-quality book each month, delivered right to their door. It’s more than a book—it’s a moment of connection, a building block for literacy, and a gift of possibility.

With support from the 100+ Women of Whidbey giving circle, we can ensure this gift reaches every child, regardless of income or circumstance. Your donation helps us grow from 1,500 children enrolled to even more—expanding access, deepening impact, and strengthening families across our island.

Your gift will:
-
Deliver the joy of family reading to Whidbey children ages 0–5, regardless of income.
-
Grow the number of Whidbey children enrolled each year.
-
Build a community where every child starts life with stories, language, and love.
Together, we can turn the page on possibility—for every child, every family, and the future of Whidbey Island.

ABOUT:
Whidbey Watershed Stewards is an accredited 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching both youth and adults about the wonders of our environment. We do this by "linking water, land, wildlife and people through education, research and restoration." Our core is educating young people, mostly K-5 grades at the Maxwelton Outdoor Classroom. These students not only include the South Whidbey Elementary School, but also other public schools on Whidbey Island, private schools and homeschool groups. The mission has grown into stewarding and restoration of several parcels of property allowing the ability to educate youth and adults on what it takes to protect our environment.
